The Status of
Nepalese Children and their rights
Nepal the
sorverign Himalayan Kingdom has been badly disturbed in
every way in recent years.
The widespread social unrest due to growing armed conflict
and political instability in Nepal , there have been
widespread disturbances in every sector of Neplese life.
In this race of
armed conflict in Nepal, it is children, the most vulnerable
section of society, who have been worst affected. In
countries like Nepal, it is only children who have been
worst exploited and abused in many ways.
The following facts and figures clearly shows the critical
status and condition of Nepalese Children.
- 779,000 children are born ever year.
- 780,00 children die every year.
- 214 children die every day.
- 300,00 children die of cholera/ Diarohhea
- 1 Government child Hospital through out Nepal.
- 350,00 children die of Neumonia and cough.
- 1 Doctor (Child specialist) is available for 102671
children.
- Over 5000 girls are sold out in India every year.
- 34% early child marriage ( under 15 year old)
- 2.6 Million children have been forced to worst forms of
child labour.
- 40,000 children have been forced to live as bonded
labours.
- 5000 children have been forced to live as street children.
- 100 children have been imprisioned
