About the Global Symposium: 'Towards a New World Civilization'

The objective of the Global Symposium is to f oster personal interaction, mutual understanding and collective action for a strong foundation of a nuclear-free, democratic, sustainable, just and peaceful New World Civilization by bringing together civil society organizations and leaders in the fields of art, education, science, religion, culture and media. At the last Global Symposium in year 2005, the World Unity and Peace Education Department along with the members of 134 civil society organizations worldwide launched the Global Partnership for World Democracy (GPWD). We would like your organization to play a leading role in strengthening this Global Partnership by your personal presence at the Global Symposium to work on the Global Action Plan for World Democracy.

Nobel laureate in Economics, Jan Tinbergen said "Mankind's problems can no longer be solved by national governments, what is needed today is a World Government. This can best be achieved by strengthening the United Nations system. CMS believes that world's problems can best be solved by empowering the UN to democratically enact and enforce international law - the Idea whose time has come.

We also believe that the World Unity is pre-requisite for World Peace which requires a common denominator or common concern and a binding thread. World's two billion children are the common concern for all the nations of the world and for the safety, security & welfare of our children we need to bind the whole world into the enforceable international law.

We consider your participation very important to contribute to the success of this Conference and I look forward to meet you this December in Lucknow, India.

With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,

(Jagdish Gandhi)
Founder-Manager, City Montessori School (CMS)
Convener of the Conference
